I’m thrilled to start 2026 with a reading retreat in one of my favourite places on earth… Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm!

There’s a reason we’re going back to Los Poblanos for a fourth retreat. It’s genuinely one of my favourite hotels on the planet. You instantly feel at peace when you arrive. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable, the grounds are stunning, and the food is my favourite out of all the retreats. And did I mention it’s a lavender farm?
But first, before I get into the details below, a quick disclaimer:
All of the reading retreats have sold out very quickly to date, and given the previous demand for a Los Poblanos retreat, I expect this will go fast as well.

New Mexico January 2026 Reading Retreat Dates & Location
Our retreat will be held at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm, which is in Albuquerque, New Mexico from Fri Jan 30th to Sun Feb 1st, 2026.
Check in for the retreat starts at 4pm on Friday, and the retreat ends at 11am on Sunday.
Los Poblanos is a luxury historic inn and organic farm set on 25 acres of lush, beautifully landscaped grounds in the heart of New Mexico. The property was originally a 1930s dairy farm that’s now been converted into elegant rooms, many with fireplaces and private terraces.
Our venue has been featured in CN Traveller, Vogue, and Architectural Digest. It’s renowned for its award-winning approach to food, which embraces a farm-to-table ethos using ingredients grown right on the property. The estate’s unique blend of history, sustainable farming, and luxury provides the perfect ambiance for a serene and enriching retreat.

Think of a reading retreat as a book club getaway. You’ll choose from a selection of curated books, read ahead, and dive into thoughtful discussions with your huddle throughout the retreat! It’s a perfect escape for book lovers, with plenty of opportunities to relax, chat about books, and make lasting connections with fellow readers.
Sleeping Accommodations
Los Poblano’s rooms are spacious and stunning. The rooms feature amenities made from lavender grown right on the farm!
You’ll have the choice between three different sleeping options (each at a different price point):
Your own room with a king or queen bed
A king or queen bed in a shared room
A comfortable sofa bed in a shared suite

Retreat Books
The retreat will have four book options: fiction, thriller, romance, and fantasy. All of the books will be recently published and vetted by yours truly. I prioritize women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC authors and/or storylines with the book selections.

This will be a sober-friendly event, but there will also be a cash bar if you'd like to add some bubbly or booze to your retreat activities (which I plan on doing)!
All prices are in USD. An additional local New Mexico GRT tax of 7.625% will be added to your ticket at checkout.
Solo ROOM Ticket
If you’d like your own single room, the retreat ticket fee per person is $1,899.
There will also be a payment plan option of $364/mo for 6 months.
SHARED ROOM TICKET
There are two shared room ticket options, where you’ll have your own bed with a selected or assigned roommate. Prices are per person:
King or queen bed for $1,499 or a payment plan of $287/mo for 6 months
Super comfy sofa bed for $1,199 or a payment plan of $229/mo for 6 months
