Book Huddle’s First Canadian Retreat, Eh?!
I am absolutely thrilled to announce Book Huddle’s first-ever Canadian reading retreat, and our 11th retreat overall!
From May 2nd-4th, 2025, we’ll be heading to Victoria, British Columbia, staying at the breathtaking Inn at Laurel Point, a waterfront hotel with stunning views of the harbor.
Victoria has been voted the Best Small City in the World for the past two years by Conde Nast Traveller’s Reader’s Choice Awards, and it’s easy to see why. Known as “The Garden City,” Victoria’s charming city buildings, walkable seawalls, and proximity to the Pacific Ocean make it the ideal location for our next magical bookish getaway.
Every Book Huddle retreat has received a 99% satisfaction rating, and this time will be no exception. With luxurious accommodations, enriching activities, and a community of passionate readers, I’m confident this retreat will be unforgettable.
But first, a quick note:
Our retreats sell out very quickly, often within minutes. It’s highly recommended to join Book Huddle Club by Dec 11th for early access to ticket sales, a $50 USD discount on your ticket, and the chance to connect with 500+ readers in our virtual book club!
Please note: Joining Book Huddle Club does not guarantee a ticket but does give you a 24-hour head start!
May 2025 Reading Retreat Dates & Location
Think of a reading retreat as a book club weekend. You’ll choose from a selection of books, read the book before, and discuss the book with your huddle over the retreat! It’s the perfect bookish getaway, complete with plenty of reading, book chats, and opportunities to make new friends who love books as much as you do.
Our retreat will take place from Friday, May 2nd at 4pm to Sunday, May 4th, 2025 at 4pm at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, BC.
This stunning waterfront hotel is a short 15-minute walk from Victoria’s main wharf area and offers unparalleled views of the harbour. Every room in our group will have a water view, and our private gathering space has 17’ floor-to-ceiling glass windows and glass ceilings showcasing the harbourfront and the property’s stunning Japanese gardens. We’ll also enjoy a private outdoor space (weather permitting) for meals and hangouts.
Getting to Victoria is an adventure in itself! You can reach the city via ferry or plane from Vancouver or Seattle. Whichever way you choose, you’ll be met with breathtaking views and the promise of a magical weekend.
Sleeping Accommodations
You’ll stay in one of the beautifully appointed waterfront rooms at the Inn at Laurel Point, each featuring breathtaking views, plush bedding, complimentary Wi-Fi, luxury bath amenities, and a private or standing balcony. Solo room spots are a king bed, and a shared room spot includes your own double bed with one other person. Whether you choose to relax in your room or enjoy the property’s tranquil gardens, you’re guaranteed a luxurious retreat experience.
If you’re opting for a shared room, you can pre-select your roommate or be paired with a fellow attendee after ticket purchase.
